A series of movie screening fundraising events to support humanitarian crises by screening impactful documentaries that highlight the human experiences behind these crises, the event cover the donations for Ukraine, Sudan, Myanmar, and Palestine.

The first event was held on 13 June 2025 at Káznice Brno and focused on raising awareness about the war in Ukraine and supporting humanitarian relief efforts. The screening featured the film Overcoming the Darkness (2022) licensed by 2Brave Production, followed by a 40-minute discussion with guest speakers Marharyta Holobrodska (Ukraïner), Richard Křesina (Koridor UA), and Daniel Rychlý (Koridor UA).

The second event was held on 04 October 2025 together with the Anarchist Brno Bookfair at Káznice Brno to focused on raising awareness about the longest conflict on earth in Myanmar and raise funds to health workers in the country. The screening featured the film Beyond The Salween River (2019) licensed by its director Gigi Berardi, followed by a 45-minute discussion with Burmese student activist guest speakers.

The third event was held on 15 November 2025 at Multikulturní Centrum Brusinka to focus the Sudanese culture and the most displaced conflict on Earth. Funds raised were contributed towards displacement camps in Sudan and South Sudan. The screening featured the film Madaniya (2024) licensed by MAD films, followed by a discussion withthe Sudanese Society in Czech Republic.

BURMA’S PEACOCK FILM FESTIVAL

The first ever Peacock Film Festival in Brno was organized on 1 March 2026 at Kino Art to showcase movies from Burmese film makers on the reality of living through the civil war in Myanmar. The screening featured 5 award winning films selected by Democratic Voice of Burma (DVB) in 2025, followed by a discussion with Aye Chan Naing, Executive Director of DVB and Sabe Soe, Executive Director of Burma Center Prague.
